Frequently asked questions
SkyPeople is active in the following sectors:
SkyPeople operates in sectors where work at height, depth, or in hard-to-reach locations needs to be performed safely and efficiently. Our Rope Access specialists work in offshore, industrial & petrochemical, civil & infrastructure, and utility construction, among others.
Within these sectors, we support clients with inspection, maintenance, assembly, repair, preservation, cleaning, NDO, welding, E&I work, and other specialized activities. For each project, we consider the location, accessibility, risks, and the most suitable working method.
Rope access is most suitable for which sector?
Rope access is particularly suitable for sectors where traditional access methods such as scaffolding, aerial work platforms, or cranes have limited applicability. This applies to offshore installations, industrial plants, petrochemical plants, bridges, locks, facades, buildings, and infrastructure structures, for example.
The method is not tied to one specific sector. The main question is whether the work can be carried out safely, in a controlled manner, and efficiently using rope techniques. Therefore, it is assessed on a per-project basis whether Rope Access is the right solution.
You choose Rope Access over scaffolding or aerial work platforms when:
Rope access is often interesting when a worksite is difficult to access, when there is little space for equipment, or when the impact on the environment must remain limited. Consider projects where scaffolding takes a lot of time, a cherry picker has no suitable placement, or where work needs to be carried out quickly and precisely.
In offshore, industrial, civil, and utility construction, Rope Access can help limit build-up time, transport movements, closures, and operational disruptions. The method is always assessed for safety, feasibility, and efficiency.
What activities does SkyPeople carry out within different sectors?
SkyPeople carries out a wide range of activities in complex work environments. This includes inspection and NDO, preservation, industrial cleaning, window cleaning, maintenance, assembly and disassembly, welding, rigging & lifting, E&I activities, and specialized project support.
These activities are carried out at locations where accessibility is a challenge. For example, on offshore platforms, process plants, tank terminals, bridges, viaducts, locks, facades, atriums, and steel structures. By combining Rope Access with technical execution, SkyPeople can support clients from preparation to execution.
Can SkyPeople also brainstorm when it's not yet clear what approach is needed?
Yes, SkyPeople can already think along in an early stage about the right approach. Not every project automatically requires Rope Access, and not every location is accessible in the same way. Therefore, we look together at the work to be done, the environment, the risks, the schedule, and the available access methods.
Based on this, it can be determined whether Rope Access is suitable, which specialists are needed, and how the work can be carried out safely and efficiently. This is especially valuable for projects with limited access, operational facilities, or minimal space for equipment.
Is Rope Access suitable for both one-off projects and recurring maintenance?
Yes, rope access can be used for one-time projects as well as recurring maintenance. One-time projects include, for example, inspections, repair work, assembly jobs, or specialized work in hard-to-reach locations.
In addition, Rope Access can also be part of periodic maintenance, maintenance campaigns, shutdowns, turnarounds, or fixed maintenance contracts. Especially for recurring work on the same installations, buildings, or structures, a standardized procedure can help to organize preparation, safety, and execution ever more efficiently.
How does SkyPeople determine which specialists are needed for a project?
SkyPeople examines the scope of work, technical requirements, accessibility, and safety risks on a per-project basis. This determines which Rope Access specialists and additional technical disciplines are needed.
Depending on the project, this can involve technicians for inspection, NDO, preservation, cleaning, welding, E&I, rigging & lifting, or general technical maintenance. This way, not only access to the worksite is arranged, but also the execution of the work itself.
Why do clients in different sectors choose SkyPeople?
Clients choose SkyPeople because we combine Rope Access with technical execution in complex working environments. Our specialists are accustomed to projects where safety, accessibility, planning, and minimal environmental impact are important.
SkyPeople supports clients in offshore, industry & petrochemicals, civil & infrastructure, and utility construction. We collaborate from preparation and work planning through to on-site execution. This results in a practical approach that fits the sector, the project, and the work.
