Some surfaces are only truly visible when you're next to them. In Q1 2025, we were in the Netherlands working on the preservation of a Knutsen Shipping vessel. No scaffolding, no dry dock, just directly alongside the hull, with the sea beneath you.
With rope access, our specialists descended along the ship's hull. While the water beat against the hull and the ship continued to move, they worked layer by layer on the preservation system. Preparing, treating, and finishing, all at height, or rather: just below it.
The contrast is beautiful to see. Where the work begins, you can still see the marks of use and weathering. Where it ends, there's again a smooth, protective layer ready for the next journey.
This kind of work requires not only technique but also a feel for the environment. Wind, water, and movement don't take a break, so you have to adapt without compromising quality.
That's precisely what makes rope access so effective here: flexible, immediately deployable, and without unnecessary setup. Just doing what's needed, where it needs to happen.
